(Act) for Tomorrow Initiative

On September 3, 2022, Hyundai and the United Nations Development Programme released a teaser video for the environmental documentary, β€˜For Tomorrow’ featuring BTS.

In the teaser, BTS narrates different stories about sustainability initiatives showcasing individuals around the world that have contributed to saving the environment and inspiring others to make a difference.

The β€˜(Act) for Tomorrow’ initiative celebrates and empowers people to share their creative sustainability solutions to help build a better world for everyone.

The documentary premiered on September 16, 2022.

Hyundai Motorstudio x Zepeto

On May 31, 2022, Hyundai released a video starring BTS advertising the future expansion of mobility experiences within their virtual Hyundai Motorstudio on the ZEPETO metaverse platform.

Operated by Naver Z, ZEPETO is a virtual space where users can interact with one another by participating in various activities using their avatars. Hyundai introduced its first virtual Motorstudio within Downtown (Future) on ZEPETO in 2021 and is now adding a second floor of exhibition space with more advanced activities.

In the first floor’s exhibition hall, users can watch the campaign film for Hyundai’s IONIQ featuring the BTS song, β€˜I’m On It’ and see posters for the Hyundai x BTS Earth Day campaign β€˜For Tomorrow, We Won’t Wait’.

To commemorate this expansion, Hyundai will host the β€˜I’m On It” challenge on ZEPETO, posting avatar selfies with BTS content on social media.

Goal of the Century Campaign

On April 20, 2022, Hyundai announced the launch of their global sustainability campaign known as the β€˜Goal of the Century.’

The campaign officially kicks off on Earth Day on April 22, 2022 and will run through and beyond the upcoming FIFA World Cup which will be held from November 21, 2022 to December 18, 2022.

Both BTS and Mr. Gerrard will be part of the newly formed group of ambassadors known as β€˜Team Century’ to unite humanity through football and encourage universal support for a sustainable future.

BTS will also participate in the β€˜World Cup Song Collaboration Project,’ a musical collaboration project for the Goal of the Century campaign. The World Cup Song is scheduled for release later this year.

Goal of the Century Pledge

On July 28, 2022, Hyundai launched their β€˜Goal of the Century Pledge’ event where fans can enter to win tickets to see the FIFA World Cup 2022 live by making an eco-friendly pledge.

Brilliant Kids Motorshow Exhibition

On December 2, 2021, Hyundai released a promotional video featuring BTS via Twitter announcing the 6th β€˜Brilliant Kids Motorshow’ Exhibition in Seoul and Busan.

Since its launch in 2016, the Brilliant Kids Motorshow has displayed works by producing automobiles and stories drawn up by kids into actual car models so that the spectators could go on a test drive and experience them. It is the world’s first children’s imagination motorshow for kids, by kids, and of kids.

Hyundai Special Film

On December 11, 2021, Hyundai released their long awaited special film featuring BTS. A teaser video aired during the band’s final night of their β€˜Permission to Dance on Stage’ concert on December 2, 2021, in Los Angeles, California.

Nexo

On November 9, 2021; Hyundai announced a BTS takeover! The announcement is in relation to the new bubble-making NEXO! BTS will take over from where they left off via advertising the vehicle!

The Hyundai NEXO brings β€˜life into the air’, as the vehicle produces bubbles infused with flower seeds!

 

 

Expecting Gen 1 Challenge

On October 20, 2021; Hyundai launched their β€˜Expecting Gen 1 Challenge’ with BTS to promote their β€˜Expecting Generation One’ campaign that reinforced Hyundai Motor’ declaration to achieve net zero carbon in its products and global operations by 2045 through clean mobility, next-generation platforms and green energy.

The β€˜Expecting Gen 1 Challenge’ was made up of two social challenges known as β€˜#Move4Gen1’ and β€˜#Pass2Gen1’ that invited people onto the three most widely used social platforms: TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube to join BTS in spreading the message of hope and to encourage everyone around the world to take positive action for Generation One.

Boston Dynamics

On June 21, 2021; Hyundai announced their new chapter of mobility after acquiring the robotics company, Boston Dynamics.

To celebrate the occasion, Hyundai created two films showcasing their brand vision for robot business from the perspective of β€˜Progress for Humanity' while also introducing BTS to Boston Dynamics 4-legged walking robot named Spot.

World Environment Day

On June 4, 2021; Hyundai partnered with BTS and other influencer in celebration of β€˜World Environment Day’ on June 5, 2021 to launch a fun and informative documentary about hydrogen power and how, together, we can save the world.

’World Environment Day’ is the United Nations day for encouraging worldwide awareness and action to protect our environment.

The theme of the 2021 event was restoring ecosystems as it marked the beginning of the UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration.

Earth Day 2021

On April 19, 2021; Hyundai released a video themed β€˜For Tomorrow, We Won’t Wait β€˜ featuring BTS for Earth Day 2021 that took place on April 22, 2021. The video suggests eco-friendly practices in our daily lives, highlighting Hyundai’s visions for a sustainable future.

Earth Day is a day aimed to raise awareness and mobilize the public to take action to improve our relationship with the Earth and tackle environmental challenges.

IONIQ: I'm on it Song

On August 31, 2020, Hyundai announced their first music collaboration with BTS releasing the song, β€˜IONIQ: I’m On It,' featuring the band.

This collaboration launched the electric lifestyle brand β€˜IONIQ’, celebrating the freedom to live a sustainable life without compromise. β€˜IONIQ’ offers people the chance to take charge of doing the right thing, whilst living freely and embracing everything that life has to offer.

Positive Energy Campaign

On June 4, 2020; Hyundai announced its release of a new video teaser titled, β€˜Positive Energy’, starring BTS in celebration of β€˜World Environment Day’. The video featured BTS narrating the uses and benefits of renewable hydrogen as a future energy source while also displaying Hyundai’s flagship hydrogen-powered SUV, β€˜Nexo.’

From June 5, 2020 to June 19, 2020, Hyundai also introduced the TikTok challenge called β€˜#PositiveEnergy’, where fans could participate by singing along to 15 seconds of the campaign’s tune with BTS and uploading the video. Participants were then selected at random to receive Hyundai x BTS merchandise produced from upcycled materials.

Earth Day 2020

On April 22, 2020; Hyundai released a film featuring spectacular sceneries with BTS as part of their Global Hydrogen Campaign to commemorate Earth Day 2020.

The film highlights the beautiful elements of the great nature that we must treasure: emerald ocean, pure-white, sky blue, sun-kissed, crystalline raindrops, starlit, and woody fresh. Hyundai’s flagship fuel cell electric vehicle (FCEV) NEXO appears toward the end of the film presenting they company’s vision for hydrogen energy as the positive energy for a better tomorrow.

Dark Selfie Challenge

On April 13, 2020; BTS and Hyundai launched the #DarkSelfieChallenge to shed light on climate change and environmental protection ahead of Earth Day 2020 that took place on April 22, 2020.

The online event allowed for participants to join BTS in taking a selfie in the darkness of their home with a flashlight.

The #DarkSelfieChallenge ended on May 4th, 2020.

Because of You Campaign

On April 7, 2020, Hyundai launched their global hydrogen campaign β€˜Because of You’ in collaboration with BTS. The campaign began with the release of videos from each member of BTS sharing a message about a sustainable future through hydrogen energy and what it means.

BTS members also had the opportunity to write down a message they wanted to share on a postcard representing an element that each of them would like to preserve: dazzling sunshine, twinkling stars, crystal clear rain, and so on.

Initial Announcement

On November 26th, 2018, Hyundai Motor Company announced their collaboration with BTS as Global Brand Ambassadors of their All-New Flagship SUV, the Palisade. BTS was presented at the company’s new social media account β€˜@Hyndai.Lifestyle’ found on Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube. The group was also featured in a variety of digital contents as part Hyundai’s, β€˜Always Remarkable’ global campaign.

The Hyundai Palisade SUV was unveiled at the Los Angeles Auto Show press conference on November 28, 2018 with a special introduction video starring BTS. The video was later released on January 14, 2019 via Hyundai’s USA official Youtube channel and can be viewed below.
