BTS has become the first K-pop group to enter Billboardโ€™s Hot 100 Top 40 with โ€œMIC DROP (Steve Aoki Remix) feat. Desiigner!

It debuted at No. 28 on the chart dated December 16, 2017. With this achievement, BTS also beat their previous record held by โ€œDNAโ€ as the highest-charting track by a K-pop group on Billboardโ€™s Hot 100, which debuted at No. 85 and peaked at No. 67.

According to BillboardNielsen Music reports that the song saw over 9.8 million first-week U.S. streams and 45,000 downloads sold following its release on Nov. 24. Following its release, the song also topped the U.S. iTunes chart.

โ€œMic Drop (Remix)โ€ was originally released on their Love Yourself: Her EP as a B-track, and is BTS' fourth single of the year following โ€œSpring Day,โ€ โ€œNot Today,โ€ and โ€œDNA.โ€

The Billboard record comes after a historic year for the K-pop group that has seen BTS rise in global awareness as theyโ€™ve dominated social media and seen immense gains on music charts, supported by a dedicated fandom known collectively as ARMY.
