How to Report Suspicious/Malicious Posts

 

US BTS ARMY is an all-volunteer force made up of BTS ARMY from various backgrounds. We are not an affiliate of HYBE, BIGHIT, or BTS; therefore, BTS members and HYBE officials will not comment or DM you through our website, social media, or posts.

HYBE has indicated that BTS members do not contact fans via social media, DMs, personal email, or any other private channel, nor would they ask fans to send gifts (money, gift cards, wire transfers, etc.) privately. All official communications we share come from Weverse or verified accounts. 

If you see any sensitive content related to BTS and their privacy, please do not spread it further and REPORT to BigHit instead. Below are details regarding how to report malicious comments; please follow the format provided.

How to Report to BigHit Music


E-mail:

E-mail Subject Title: Artist name

E-mail Content:

1. Date of the post (year, month, day, time)
2. Platform and URL of the post (i.e YouTube, Twitter, etc)
3. Owner of the post (Nickname, ID, etc)
4. IP address of the post (if possible)
5. Contents: Description of what the content is or the actual content itself
6. Others: If there are any photos, videos, and other screenshots you would like to send, please attach them.

*This e-mail is for reporting malicious behavior ONLY. Please do not send e-mails other than reporting those malicious posts.

SNS Impersonations

Facebook

Profiles and pages that impersonate other people go against Facebook’s Community Standards and aren’t allowed on Facebook. In addition, accounts that pretend to be someone else, such as a public figure (like a celebrity), aren't allowed in Messenger.

How to report a profile or page:

  1. Go to the impersonating profile or page.

    • If you can't find it, try searching for the name used on the profile or Page or asking your friends if they can send you a link to it.

  2. Click the three dot ellipsis (... or ⋮) below the cover photo.

  3. If you're reporting a page, select Find support or report Page. If you're reporting a profile, select Find support or report profile.

  4. Follow the on-screen instructions for impersonation to file a report.

How to report a profile or page in Messenger:

On mobile: 

  1. Open the conversation.

  2. Click the three-dot ellipsis (... or ⋮) in the top right.

  3. Click Report.

  4. Select Pretending to be someone as your category.

  5. Select who they are pretending to be, and click Submit Report.

On desktop (messenger.com): 

  1. Open the conversation.

  2. Click the three-dot ellipsis (... or ⋮) in the top right. 

  3. Click Privacy & support.

  4. Click Report.

  5. Select Pretending to be someone as your category.

  6. Select who they are pretending to be, then click Submit Report.

  7. Click Done.

Instagram

If an Instagram account is pretending to be someone you know or follow, an organization, a celebrity, or a public figure, you can report it to Instagram in the Instagram app or fill out this form.

How to report someone for impersonation:

  1. Click their username from their feed or story post, or click the magnifying glass and search for their username to go to their profile.

  2. Click the three-dot ellipsis (... or ⋮) next to their username.

  3. Click Report, then click Report Account.

  4. Click It's pretending to be someone else.

  5. Select the type of impersonation and follow the on-screen instructions.

Remember that your report is anonymous, except if you’re reporting an intellectual property infringement. The account you reported won’t see who reported them.

Twitter/X

Impersonation is a violation of the X rules. If you believe an account is misusing the identity of somebody else, you can flag it as a bystander by reporting directly from the account’s profile.

You do not need an X account to report impersonation on X.

How to report profiles for violations:

  1. Open the profile you’d like to report.

  2. Click the overflow icon (...).

  3. Click Report and then select the type of issue you’d like to report.

    • If you select They’re being abusive or harmful, you will be asked to provide additional information about the issue you’re reporting. You may be asked to select additional posts from the account you’re reporting to provide better context to evaluate your report.

  4. X will include the text of the posts you reported in their follow-up emails and notifications to you. To opt-out of receiving this information, uncheck the box next to Updates about this report can show these posts.

  5. Once you’ve submitted your report, X will provide recommendations for additional actions you can take to improve your X experience.

BIGHIT MUSIC has posted an update regarding legal proceedings against perpetrators of malicious activities related to BTS on Weverse. If you see malicious activities such as defamation, personal attacks, sexual harassment, the spread of groundless information, and ill-intentioned criticism towards BTS, do not engage; instead, you should report it!

As stated in the notice, the company “filed additional criminal complaints against postings with personal attacks and defamation using new information provided by fans as well as collected through monitoring initiatives.”

BIGHIT stated they will continue to ensure that the rights of the artists are fully protected.

BIGHIT stated they will continue to initiate strict measures to ensure that these malicious acts are not repeated, and their policy of no settlement and no leniency remains in effect.

The company is taking every action possible, civl or criminal, especially against YouTube and DC Inside accounts who repeatedly engage in such activities. BIGHIT stated they will continue to initiate strict measures to ensure that these malicious acts are not repeated, and their policy of no settlement and no leniency remains in effect.

BIGHIT MUSIC's update regarding legal proceedings against perpetrators of malicious activities related to BTS, including ill-intentioned criticism, the spread of groundless information, sexual harassment, personal attacks and defamation was posted on BTS’s Weverse.

BIGHIT MUSIC “regularly collect evidence and file criminal complaints through constant and real-time monitoring of online postings in all channels including BTS Twitter, blog, and YouTube as well as via their hotline.” The company has asked for fans to make continued used of their email hotline to report any cases of abuse.
