V Breaks The Record For The Highest Number Of No. 1's On The iTunes Top Songs Chart By A South Korean Soloist

V has broken an iTunes record!
After it’s release on May 13, V’s self-composed OST, “Sweet Night” for the K-drama ‘Itaewon Class’ topped iTunes Top Songs charts in 77 regions. As of May 25 at around 8:40am KST, that number rose to 88 regions. With this, V’s “Sweet Night” broke the record for highest number of iTunes Top Songs chart no. 1’s for a song by a Korean soloist, surpassing the previous record held by PSY’s “Gangnam Style.” This record was achieved without any music videos or promotions that included V himself, making it an even more impressive feat.
To celebrate V’s achievement, fans celebrated by trending the hashtag #HistoryMakerV on Twitter, which ranked no. 1 and no. 2 in Korea and worldwide trends, respectively.
