Initial Announcement
On June 24, 2022, HYBE announced BTS as honorary ambassadors for the effort to bring the 2030 World Expo to Busan Metropolitan City, the second most populous city in South Korea behind Seoul. Busan is one of five countries competing to host the 2030 World Expo scheduled to take place May 1, 2030 to October 31, 2030.
BTS is committed to hold a global concert and participate in various other promotional activities to support Busan’s bid to host the event.
The World Exhibition (Expo), also known as the World’s Fair, takes place every 5 years lasting a span of 6 months. It is one of the oldest and largest events in the world that invites all nations to come together to share ideas and showcase their achievements in areas such as science and technology.

BTS Yet to Come in Busan
UPDATE: On September 1, 2022, Big Hit announced that the world expo concert in Busan will now take place at Busan Asiad Main Stadium.
On August 24, 2022 KST, Big Hit announced that BTS will hold a concert in Busan on October 15, 2022. The ‘Yet to Come in Busan’ concert will be in support of the city’s bid to host the 2030 World Expo.
The concert is free of charge to help boost the promotional impact of BTS as expo ambassadors. A real-life Live Play broadcast will also take place at the Bushan Port International Passenger Terminal.

Appointment Ceremony
On July 19, 2022, BTS was officially announced as the ambassadors for the World Expo 2030 Busan, Korea, by the Bid Committee during a ceremony at HYBE’s headquarters in Seoul. The ceremony was broadcasted live via the event’s official YouTube channel.
South Korea Prime Minister, Han Duk-soo shared his thanks to the group for taking on the role of ambassador.
