"Butter" Becomes the Fastest Song to Earn Platinum Certification for Streaming in Japan

Announced on August 24 (KST), BTS’s “Butter” surpassed 100 million streams, earning platinum certification by the Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ). “Butter” was first released on May 21, 2021, meaning it took 72 days for it to reach this milestone. “Butter” is the fastest song in RIAJ history to achieve this feat.
